"When I'm free I love to try out restaurants, see a play or hang out with my loved ones. If I'm not doing this I'm most likely in my room reading a mag or a book."

"My style is feminine and sometimes traditional. I love wearing dresses and skirts cause they're not only pretty but also comfy."

"I love romantic fabrics and details in clothes like lace, pleats or ruffles but I like to mix it up a bit for a more modern appeal."

"I don't own a lot of jeans or tees, but they always come in handy and are good as a base for an outfit. I also like ripped jeans. I'm definitely considering adding more denim to my wardrobe."

"One more thing about my style is colours! I love to play with makeup but I never go over the top, especially during the day."

 Just the other day I pulled out my gifted custom EMF shirt from the depths of my wardrobe. It was made by the lovely and very talented Buchi Michael Onuorah of EMF (Check out more of his designs here and his blog here).  He and another good friend of mine made me this symbolic shirt a couple summers ago (the story behind its significance is one for another day). I was very surprised and excited when I received it. I totally loved it!

Matchy-matchy mode activated.

Yup! My shoe addiction is an all-inclusive venture!

I just want to say a BIG thank you to all of you who read my blog and those who follow it. You are the reason I'm still posting. :)

I've been blogging since 2008 but decided to start afresh and go public with msjacksays in September. In the beginning I was quite unsure as to what to expect but I must say you guys have really helped erase my fears.

I am extremely humbled by the kind comments and reviews I have received thus far. And I do intend to give back. I will be having giveaways every now & then [who says no to free stuff given with so much love? :p ], strictly for those following msjacksays only. I am yet to decide when exactly that will be but you will be informed as soon as I do.

I live in black

My go-to colour of choice for uni is usually black. I own a gazillion black pieces of clothing simply because it's the easiest thing to work with so early in the morning. Same excuse for when I'm just too lazy to put together an outfit. So here's Monday & Tuesday...

A day in the life of a king

Visited Cardiff Castle over the weekend. It's a really relaxed place and I enjoy going there every now and then. There's a wealth of history on the castle grounds and a fun fact; there's a Nigerian flag along one of the castle walls where various national flags are displayed. :p

A tribute to Michael

"Ladies and gentlemen, the show will start in 5 minutes".

There I was at 'Michael Forever', standing as close to the stage as I could get.

I haven't posted on this until now because I wasn't sure what words I could use to describe the concert but I decided to just wing it.

Last saturday, there was a Michael Jackson tribute concert here in Cardiff at the humongous Millenium Stadium. I'm talking over 80,000 people in attendance! Lucky enough, He and I were able to get last-minute gold circle tickets which landed us somewhere near the stage. I've never been to a concert that big so I was quite fascinated and I'm glad I decided on that particular one because it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Unfortunately it was dark for most of the night so my photos of the performers/performances didn't come out well enough. Sorry!

Neyo opened the show with 2 tribute performances... KILLED IT! Next up was JLS and I was far from disappointed! Then they introduced the next act...

The Jackson 5!!!!! (well, what's left of them) *insert scream here* Those old men were busting moves like it was 1985!

Jamie Foxx was our compere for the night. He was hilarious and his performance was beautiful!

Leona Lewis was a joy to behold and listen to as usual.

Craig David (am I the only one who thought he was somewhat non-existent until saturday night?). His performance had me dreaming of little Craig juniors running around our humble country mansion. *sigh*

A couple of hours later, Prince, Paris and Blanket Jackson made an appearance to introduce the next act which was none other than HRM Queen King B! Though she couldn't make it down to Cardiff, Beyonce gave a performance of her usual outstanding standard via video uplink. And that baby bump looked so cute. :)

3T (Tito Jackson's sons) did a sentimental song that landed them and the rest of us I, in tears.

Alexandra Burke performed like she was on some MJ crack. LOVED it!

Now Yolanda Adams was something else. The woman literally sang her heart out on the Earth song.... AMAZING!

Diversity. One word. WOW!

When Christina Aguilera's half-naked male dancers got on stage and started pretending to be bored while doing all sorts of stretches and dance moves and waist-movements, Miss Jack started sweating seriously! *insert side eye from Him here*

Smokey Robinson! Gladys Knight! Cee Lo Green! Pixie Lott! There were quite a lot of performances and even a few duets. I screamed until I was hoarse. Like I said earlier, the descriptive terms fail me. Every performance was simply amazing. Period.

Over-excited maybe? Lol.

So...my style, well I don't really know how to describe it, but I try as much as possible to give my outfits a personality. 

Betty Boop... Miss Jack loves!

I'm generally a chirpy, fun-loving person, but I also have a boyish side!

I adore both slightly edgy as well as chic.

 For me, what makes my outfit could be my shoes (J'aime chaussures) or sometimes even the colour of my nail-polish. Yep, nail polish. 

Her advice to us: 

Be creative...match a velvety ruffled top with a silk jacket and rough it up with jeans or with uniquely shaped or coloured shoes. 

Don't be afraid to use a bright colour that stands out, yet accentuates your outfit. 

The trick is getting the balance right, be confident and let it radiate in what you wear...but make sure not to turn up looking outrageously obnoxious. When in doubt, go with what you know.

You're not always gonna get it right, but more often than not it's worth a try.

 Most importantly, keep that smile on your face, beauty shines inside-out.

In His Tee

Decided to use a plain male t-shirt as the basis of my outfit today. Was perfect since Friday is usually a casual day and I wanted to look the part.

It's been a long week and I can't wait to fall asleep.

Aluta continua!

Today was my first day of school this semester. It turned out to be one of those days when I'm not sure if I'm awake or still asleep as I mechanically make it from class to class and everywhere in-between.

Decided that if I am to make it to class this year sans all the huffing and puffing required after a half-run, I will have to learn to pick ballet flats over heels more often than usual. That, and the fact that I now live further away and will have longer walking minutes.

Managed to take a few random photos of myself as I ran out the door into the rain and sometime before I collapsed into my bed when it was all over. 

Aluta continua. (The struggle continues).

Tomorrow is another day. *sigh*
