Style Focus: Karela Brigidi

Karela is my beautiful diva of a cousin. Continue to learn about her style while I think up creative ways to raid her closet and get out alive with enough shoes and purses!

Love the jacket

My style is a mix of smart, casual and free.

I'm so sure those are my size!

I love neutral colours especially the colour black.

I feel a nice, practical handbag does the trick in any outfit because it gives a more elegant feel to the look.

That blazer is on point!

Have a lovely Sunday guys!
MJ.

Style Focus: Uduak Bassey

Meet Uduak Bassey, a beautiful Advertising student with a love for photography. Continue for oh-so-stylish photos that give us a glimpse of her style!
And might I add, I love EVERY photo in this post!

Uduak says:

It is always a task to define my style....

I try to personalise any outfit or trend I wear so it comes off as 'something Uduak wold wear'.

I would so rock that!

I pay a lot of attention to details...

Love the colour combo and the perfect fit of the blazer.

I play with colours, textures, trends, prints, african fabrics etc.

:) :) :)

Basically, anything to give my outfit an edge.

Lovely! Lovely! Lovely!

Have a wonderful Sunday,
Uduak.

Style Focus: Toritshe.

Love everything about this photo!

Toritshe is a 4th year BA Honour student in Economics and Political Science in Canada and by all means a stylista (I have a feeling I just made up that word, no?)!

Continue reading to see why I love her style so.

Those shorts! :)
The only thing I love more than her versatile sense of style and her vintage treasures is the way she works it all. Toritshe can make a garri bag look like a wardrobe staple and no one can convince me otherwise!

Point to note: The two most important things you can put on every morning are confidence and a smile. Every thing else will fall into place.

Style Focus: Nma

Meet Nma, a Nigerian student in Ghana and also a blogger. Checkout her blog, 'Life and the prima donnas'. I would be interested in raiding Nma's closet for anything from clothes to hair pieces and even nail polish!

Continue to learn about a bit about her and her style.

Miss Jack LOVES this dress. There's DHL in Ghana, right? :)
"When I'm free I love to try out restaurants, see a play or hang out with my loved ones. If I'm not doing this I'm most likely in my room reading a mag or a book."

Noticed the purple nails? I like!

"My style is feminine and sometimes traditional. I love wearing dresses and skirts cause they're not only pretty but also comfy."

...and the yellow nails too. :)

"I love romantic fabrics and details in clothes like lace, pleats or ruffles but I like to mix it up a bit for a more modern appeal."

"I don't own a lot of jeans or tees, but they always come in handy and are good as a base for an outfit. I also like ripped jeans. I'm definitely considering adding more denim to my wardrobe."
Loving the hair candy.
"One more thing about my style is colours! I love to play with makeup but I never go over the top, especially during the day."

That skirt! ;)

Have a lovely Sunday!

Style Focus: Oyinda Johnson

This week's feature is beautiful Oyinda, a msjacksays reader. She tells us about her style and shares a few tips with us. Continue reading to learn a thing or two about Oyinda.
Also, information on how to feature on Style Focus is at the end of this post.
Enjoy! :)

So...my style, well I don't really know how to describe it, but I try as much as possible to give my outfits a personality.

Betty Boop... Miss Jack loves!
I'm generally a chirpy, fun-loving person, but I also have a boyish side!

I adore both slightly edgy as well as chic.

For me, what makes my outfit could be my shoes (J'aime chaussures) or sometimes even the colour of my nail-polish. Yep, nail polish.

Her advice to us:

Be creative...match a velvety ruffled top with a silk jacket and rough it up with jeans or with uniquely shaped or coloured shoes.

Don't be afraid to use a bright colour that stands out, yet accentuates your outfit.

The trick is getting the balance right, be confident and let it radiate in what you wear...but make sure not to turn up looking outrageously obnoxious. When in doubt, go with what you know.

You're not always gonna get it right, but more often than not it's worth a try.

Most importantly, keep that smile on your face, beauty shines inside-out.

Love,
Oyinda!
