THIS COLE WORLD

Well, what can I tell you? The J Cole concert was really good! That is coming from someone who barely knew the guy's name until two weeks ago so imagine how awesome it must have been for the J Cole fanatics!

I managed to listen to about 3 of his songs at least once before D-day (epic fail compared to my original plan, I know!). I did get along fine at the concert though. Right! Who am I kidding? I chewed my mouth like there was no tomorrow.

I made sure to take an outfit photo before I headed out. No chance of any photos in the dark, almost crowded concert area. I hear the after-party rocked! I took a rain-check on that one.

In other news, I am aware that my posting has been rather sporadic and unfortunately, it is going to be the 'usual' here. This is simply because I have a lot of coursework to get done before Christmas and there's a limit to what I can sacrifice at the altar that is msjacksays. However, I will post as often as I can because I enjoy posting as much as you enjoy reading.

On that note, I would like to thank all new followers and readers of this blog. Your lovely comments make me smile whenever I read them. If you left a message with your blog address, I did visit and I am following. You all have very interesting blogs by the way. I'm impressed.

An eye on talent: Busayo Ogunbiyi

Meet Busayo Ogunbiyi, the brain behind Buvie. I have met Busayo on many occasions in Leeds but I only recently found out that she's more than just a friendly person. I happened to discover her collection of handmade jewellery by pure chance and I feel they are worth sharing with you.

It's soo hard to put or explain love in words but I love what I do and I am in love with the One who gives me my inspiration. 

I am a second year law student and BUVIE (a high school nickname of mine) basically is me. God has given me a talent that involves art with hands and my beads are just one channel.

BUVIE basically is beauty in bead form. I do it not for the money but for the beauty that God has put in me to create. 

At the moment Buvie is just jewellery with beads and hair accessories but, by His grace, it would be so much more. Buvie at the end of the day would and should include a lot more! (Not going to give a sneak peak yet). 

Buvie (I) technically try to capture a part of nature's beauty, God's creation, in the mix of colours, shapes and designs. It's how I worship Him. I will have to stop here because if I go on I wouldn't stop at all! :D

And I shall continue from where she stopped! Noticed all the colourful packaging? Well, she makes that herself too. Is she too cool or what? Also, her prices are very affordable. She wasn't kidding when she mentioned she doesn't do it for the money!

Of course, I didn't leave Leeds without my very own Buvie creation and I must say, Ms Jack approves!

Style Focus: Karela Brigidi

Karela is my beautiful diva of a cousin. Continue to learn about her style while I think up creative ways to raid her closet and get out alive with enough shoes and purses!

I feel a nice, practical handbag does the trick in any outfit because it gives a more elegant feel to the look.

Ho Ho Ho!

Last Thursday marked the beginning of the Christmas season in Cardiff. Thursday is my busiest day at uni but I managed to catch the tail-end of the festivities that took place in the City Centre.

The Christmas lights were turned on throughout the City Centre and the temporary stalls which had been built less than a week before were all opened for business. There were also mini-shows, mini-concerts and displays.

 These stalls sell everything from Scottish food to locally-made Christmas and other goods.

The City was full of people in all sorts of costumes. There were mini-Santas, christmas tree decorations, wreaths, firecrackers and some other people/things I couldn't recognise.

 By far the best part was Santa's Grotto which happens to be literally around the corner from where I live. Hmm! All these things i failed to enjoy as a kid. The opening of Santa's Grotto was grand. He even had live reindeers! That just made my day. I'm not sure how Santa and his little helpers will feel when I turn up to sit on his lap and gist but I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Blast from the Past

Thinking of the future...

You know that feeling when you have a brainwave and it's like the pieces of your life suddenly fall into place? That happened to me sometime last week and I've been on a self-induced high since then. I can't wait to move up to the next stage of my life which I have only just figured out in partial detail. Excited is an understatement...I think I'll shut up now before I start rambling incoherently.

Back to the present...

As my workload piles up, I can only focus on the fact that in a few weeks, it will be over for a minute and I will be smiling all the way to Nigeria. Yup, no white christmas for me this year!

Any one of you who will be in that vicinity come December, feel free to holla. I will be buried in coursework due January but I shall come up for air more often than not.

 I have a pile of work eyeballing me at the moment so this is the part where I say goodnight!

Yeah, I missed you too. :)

I apologise for not posting Sunday's Style Focus feature. I've simply been too busy with coursework. However, I promise that the next few features are going to be so worth the wait! Wait until you see the beautiful, talented and wonderful people I have lined up... I know, I can't wait too! ;)

Church was lovely, thanks for asking! Speaking of lovely, I totally liked what beautiful Doyin (yup, she's so fine she deserves an adjective) wore today. Sheer top, blazer, denim, wedges, purse, earrings and bracelet....all VERY well put together. To borrow the words of Ms Johnson (a msjacksays reader whom I featured here) - Ms Jack approves!

By the way, that is all her own hair (and it's longer that what you can see here)...jealous much!

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

 Here's my Ugochi-inspired outfit as promised in the previous post (Eat & Greet). It did save me a significant amount of time this morning. :)

 The weather today was simply depressing. There is nothing about rain that brightens my day. All that dancing in the rain crap is strictly for TV. 

Ended up having to swap suede heels for leather flats and it still didn't make me look any less conspicuous as I attempted to balance my school bag, an umbrella and breakfast while I power-walked to class. Of course that meant indoor photography, poor lighting inclusive.

I did mention that I am an agbaya (basically, an overgrown baby), right?

Well believe me when I say, you don't know the half of it!
