Tasty Tuesdays: Pasta

Hey MJS readers!
Erm... surprise surprise... I cook too! LOL.
I'm no celebrity chef but I can whip up a thing or two in the kitchen. I get questions from people about how I make this or that so I'm going to be sharing on a regular basis.
You can now feed yourselves and stop making me slave over the stove often! *I joke :p*

Today, I'm serving Pasta and vegetables (the simplified version). It's very easy to make and you can customise it as you wish using your preferred vegetables and spices.
I'm very new at this recipe thing so I don't give specific quantities of ingredients, I hope to do so in subsequent posts.
It's easy to use discretion for this dish.

Ingredients:
Pasta
Cooking oil (vegetable or your preference)
Tomatoes
Fresh pepper (optional)
Onions
Chicken/Beef stock
Green peas
Carrots
Green pepper
Sweet corn
Salt & seasoning

Preparation:

1. Put the pasta to boil in water until a bit soft. No need to add salt.
Drain any excess water.

2 .Put the tomatoes, chopped onions and fresh pepper into a blender.
Blend until there are no chunky bits.

3. Pour a small amount of oil into a saucepan. Allow it to heat a little.
Add the tomato mix and allow to boil for 5 minutes.
Add the chicken or beef stock. Season to taste.
Allow to cook on low heat for 5 minutes.
Cut the green pepper and dice the carrots while you wait.

4. Pour the pasta into the sauce and mix. Cook on low heat for 5 minutes.
Pour in the vegetables and mix. Cook for 5 minutes.

"Food is Ready!"

Bon Appetit!

Bib of Many Colours

Favorite item of the month #1: Collar necklace (get it here).

I wore this in my last two posts. Be it a casual or dressy outfit, this piece is doing it for me this month.

I finally got to take these neon babies out for a spin today. They've been cooling off in my wardrobe since I got them and posted on them here.

FOTD Friday: Face Care Routine

Let's talk Face Care!

Up until a couple of years ago, my face care routine was below zero.
There was nothing my mum did not say to knock sense into my head. I just didn't care that much.
Somewhere along the line, I got tired of the endless pimples, spots and scars (I was always 'touching' my face) & I decided to take this facial routine thing serious.

I tried all sorts of face care products in all kinds of price ranges but nothing seemed to work. Sure, my situation got better but I didn't see the magic I was looking for. It was only earlier this year that I found products that actually work for me.

My routine is the generally accepted one that I'm sure most, if not all of you are aware of:

1. WASH: Wash your face using a good face wash & lukewarm water at least morning and night. Especially at night.
2. CLEANSE: Use a good cleanser that agrees with your skin.
3. MOISTURISE: It is important to keep your face moisturized. If the skin on your face feels tight, it's literally begging to be moisturised.
4. EXFOLIATE: Exfoliate using a facial scrub about once a week to remove dead skin.

Other things to note:

*Failing to remove make up before going to bed clogs pores and does nothing to help achieving clearer skin. Use a good eye make up remover to remove eye make up because that is a delicate area.

*I use cotton buds dipped in warm water to clean the inner corners of my eyes as well as my lower lash line. These are areas I cant afford to scrub properly while washing my face without risking getting face wash in my eyes.
*When choosing skin care products, it is important to know what kind of skin you have. It could be dry, oily or a combination of both. Most face care products are tailored to suit particular skin types for best results.

MY REVIEW: Since I started using that simple routine, things have changed a lot! At some point, I had to have make up on as long as I wasn't asleep (facial skin confidence = 0) but now I'm comfortable chilling with no make up on. :)

I hope someone found this helpful.
Does anyone have a different routine that works or other face care tips?
Please share in the comments section below.
Next friday, we'll talk eyebrows!

Have a lovely weekend!

Back Where I Started

CATCH UP TIME!

I took a break to attend to personal matters. God has been great to me this year & I am beyond humbled. I hope you all had a summer as wonderful as mine!

The big news is...

The

Girl

Is

Back

In

Cardiff!

So...Law School plans have been suspended for a few years. Since I currently have no intentions to practise Law, I was advised to review my priorities and Law School had to fall back while I go on to accomplish other things. So, here I am. Back where I started.

I'm doing an LLM (Masters in Law) in International Commercial Law. I had enrolment today and I had that first-day-of-school-over-the-moon-nothing-can-go-wrong-good-better feeling....that is, until I started reading the material in my 'welcome pack'. It's going to be a tough year but yeah, 'I gat this!'

Wedding Bells!

It's been wedding fever all year long! It's either a wedding invitation or a wedding proposal. For those who are dear to my heart, I have worn myself out squealing with joy when they were either proposed to or got a 'yes'!
Urm....this is the point where I inform you that I'm not about to announce that I'm engaged or getting married... You can breathe now.
My cousin got married last week. One of those ones that I knew I just had to attend. No excuses.
Got into Nigeria the morning of the traditional wedding & caught the next available flight out of Abuja to PH. Long story short, I didn't have much time to get ready or take photos.

At the traditional wedding

Back of my dress.
I did better with the church wedding. The wedding colours were pink, orange and yellow. After much ado, I decided on a coral pink and gold dress with a yellow hat to match.

ALL HAIL THE YOUNG LAWYER!

My graduation was on Friday & there's not much else I can say but 'Thank God!'
The 'legal' journey was not easy but he saw me through.
I had a lot of family and friends around to celebrate with me and to put it mildly, I was overwhelmed by all the love...and very grateful too!
